On 14th February 2025, Gajera Vidyabhavan Sachin hosted a Children’s Panchayat Session Competition under the guidance of our respected Principal, Anju Ma’am. This interactive session served as a platform for young minds to understand governance, decision-making, and problem-solving within a community. The event not only fostered a sense of responsibility among students but also encouraged them to think critically about real-world issues affecting villages.
The session revolved around various village problems, such as electricity shortages, water supply issues, road maintenance, and the process of obtaining birth and death certificates. Through engaging discussions and role-playing, students stepped into the shoes of panchayat members, addressing these concerns just like real local government officials. By debating solutions and presenting their viewpoints, they gained practical insights into how local governance functions and the importance of grassroots leadership.
A Block Panchayat, led by a Sarpanch, plays a crucial role in rural development. It deals with key issues such as sanitation, education, healthcare, agricultural progress, land disputes, and social welfare schemes. The Children’s Panchayat Session emphasized the importance of Gram Sabha meetings, where villagers collectively discuss problems and suggest solutions. This activity not only introduced students to the concept of community-driven governance but also instilled in them the value of democratic participation and leadership.
Through this competition, students at Gajera Vidyabhavan Sachin developed a deeper understanding of civic duties and problem-solving skills. The event was a meaningful learning experience, empowering young learners to think critically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively—all essential qualities for future leaders.
