The second day of Navaratri was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and devotion at Gajera Vidyabhavan Sachin. As we embarked on this sacred nine-day journey, each day dedicated to the nine avatars of Goddess Durga, the energy among students and teachers was palpable.
The festivities began with a special aarti and havan of Mataji Pratima, performed by our Vice Principal, Mrs. Anju Mistry, alongside the students and faculty. The sacred chants filled the air, creating a serene and divine atmosphere. A highlight of the day was a detailed presentation on Mata Brahmacharini, where students were informed about her significance and the cultural importance of Navaratri through a visual PPT. This enriched their understanding of this auspicious festival.
We were also honoured to have our Trustee Shree Chuni Gajera Sir visit the school, where he participated in the celebrations and sought the blessings of Mataji, making the occasion even more special.
The students were then divided into nine groups, with activities symbolizing offerings to Goddess Durga. The second day’s theme, “Plant a Smile,” resonated deeply with everyone as we launched the activity titled **’एक कदम पर्यावरण की तरफ‘** (A Step Towards the Environment).
Amidst the festive joy, we paused to reflect on our duty to the environment. The day included a thought-provoking **Awareness Session on Reducing Plastic for a Greener Planet**. A detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighted startling statistics about plastic waste and proposed sustainable alternatives. The visual aspect helped to drive home the urgency of the issue, leaving a lasting impression on both students and teachers.
One of the day’s most engaging events was a **debate competition** on “Reduce Plastic and Promote Eco-Friendly Materials.” Two groups passionately presented their arguments. Group A advocated reducing plastic use, emphasizing the harmful effects on the planet, while Group B championed the benefits of eco-friendly materials. This insightful debate not only sparked meaningful discussions but also encouraged students to reflect on their own environmental practices.
The second day of Navaratri was not just about honoring traditions but also about fostering a sense of responsibility towards our planet. As we continue with the celebrations, let’s commit to preserving both our rich cultural heritage and the environment, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
Together, we honor Goddess Durga and pledge to take one step closer to a greener, healthier planet.
